Unicorn Tapestry publishes explanatory articles about historic unicorn tapestries, iconography, and later decorative reception. Travis Reid maintains the site and is its editorial contact. The site is published by Tapestry Australia, part of GR Joinery (ABN 80 663 876 271). Our purpose is to help readers distinguish named historic works from modern interpretations and commercial product terminology.

Experience and scope

Tapestry Australia has produced tapestries for many years. This practical experience supports the site’s explanations of materials, construction, hanging, and care. It does not replace historical evidence: claims about dates, makers, ownership, iconography, and museum objects are checked against relevant collection records and specialist publications.

Research and sources

We collect and compare collection records, museum publications, and established reference material where available. We make a good-faith effort to check historical claims against reputable sources, but this hobby publication cannot independently authenticate every object or verify every statement made by another researcher or institution. Interpretive statements are presented as interpretation rather than fact when evidence is uncertain or scholars disagree. Sources are added where they support specific claims or help readers continue their research.
