Image Rights and Credits

Rights review updated: August 5, 2026

Historic artwork and the photograph of that artwork can have different rights. This page records the source and stated reuse status for locally hosted visual assets used on Unicorn Tapestry. Files are resized or compressed derivatives unless otherwise noted; the underlying artwork has not been claimed as our property.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Open Access images

The seven locally hosted Hunt of the Unicorn images below come from The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Met collection API was checked on August 5, 2026 and recorded each listed object as public domain with an available primary image. They are used under The Met’s Open Access program (CC0).

Wikimedia Commons images

The Commons file metadata was checked through the MediaWiki API when these derivatives were downloaded and rechecked on August 5, 2026. All 13 live records matched the saved licence register: public domain, CC0, or CC BY 4.0. File-page links are retained so readers and future reusers can check the current record and full attribution.

Software

The website is built with Astro and other open-source packages. Installed package licence records were reviewed during this audit; the production toolchain uses permissive open-source licences, including MIT, Apache, BSD, ISC, and compatible combinations. Those projects retain their own copyright notices and licence terms.

Rights corrections

No infringement is intended. Repository and institutional metadata can be incomplete, mistaken, or changed after a file is downloaded. If you believe an image, credit, or licence statement is wrong, please email contact@unicorntapestries.com so it can be reviewed promptly. Include the page URL, identify the material, explain the rights claimed, and provide a reliable supporting source. We will investigate and, where appropriate, correct the credit, add information, restrict access, or remove the material while the matter is resolved.

This record describes the site’s basis for use; it is not legal advice to third parties. Anyone reusing an image must check and follow the current source-page terms for their own intended use.
